today we went to see herculaneum.

it is an ancient city that was buried when mt. vesuvius erupted and it is right in the middle of naples.

but since there are no signs for it, it took us awhile to find it.

after that we decided to go looking for a beach.

driving in naples is an absolute nightmare!

we ended up sideswiping to parked cars and denting our own car in the process.

but we FINALLY found this tiny little free beach.

the sand is naturally black.

naples is a very dirty, disorganized and crowded city.

i don't care for it much, but we are enjoying staying with chris.

we all went out to eat for supper and i had a MASSIVE calzone and some red wine.

and then...

the best part...

a motorcycle ride through naples at night.

that was fun. :)
