today we drove north and stopped to check out the leaning tower of pisa.
all the rumors are true.
it is leaning.
we didn't know where we were going to spend the night.
two attempts at booking fell through so we drove around looking for hotels.
we checked out a few but none of them worked.
so we started driving out of town and suddenly came upon a hotel/restaurant on the mountainside.
we went in to ask about it and it was the right price and had an AMAZING view!
so here we are.
we walked down to the first of the cinque terre towns and sat on a cliff on the side of the road overlooking the mediterranean and watched the sun set.
it was absolutely breathtaking!
and for supper we ate spaghetti out of a ziploc bag with our hands.
the adventure continues! ;)
