today we slept in.

chilled at the apartment.

rested our feet.

in the evening we went up to tour the old roman forum and palatine hill.

then we hopped on a bus to the town of tivoli about 30mins from rome.

once in tivoli we wandered around trying to find the famed villa d'este and it's 500 fountains.

italian signage is obscure at best, but we finally discovered it and my, was it worth it!

we wandered the huge gardens with their lighted fountains listening to the magical sound of water running and flowing everywhere!

it was a place straight out of a fairytale!

and then we were soooo lucky to manage the very last bus back to our apt.
