today is just another day.

but today is the beginning.

today is not my birthday.

today is not a new year.

today is not any better of a day for making beginnings than any other day.

today is Good Friday.

today is the day my Savior died for me.

today is the day my darkness was replaced by His light.

today is the day the Son of God made all things new.

so in it's own way, even though it is a day of death, it is a day of beginnings, too.

so i am beginning this journal with a photo of myself each day.

not because i am narcissistic.

not because i am anything.

because He is something.

and because He made me alive.

today is a miserable-at-work-cry-on-the-way-home-find-a-note-from-a-sweet-friend-sit-on-your-bed-reading-it-and-cry-some-more kind of day.

these are growing moments.

these are moments of gratitude for friendship.

these are moments to live for.
